It's not all about ugly sweaters and white elephant. If you have a small business here in Austin, maybe you're trying to get creative with how you'd like to celebrate with your employees this season. Depending on the size of your staff, we have some ideas for how to make your holiday gathering unique and memorable!
1- For a small staff (7 and under): Book a private perfume-making workshop at Libertine. Located in a shared office space in South Austin, you'll be transported to an olfactory paradise once you step into Crystal's vintage-inspired perfume studio. During the workshop, Crystal will swatch a bouquet of different naturally and ethically derived fragrances, from floral to woodsy, fruity to green to earthy, and everything in between. She'll guide your party to each create a personal and unique scent, which everyone will get to bottle and take home.
2- For a staff of 30 or under: Book an event at Craft. Stoke their creative flames and BYO-anything. This Eastside business is a hub for makers, but offers workshops and can help you create the perfect holiday-themed workshop for you and your team.
3- For a staff of 2 to 45: Turn your holiday party into a plant party! Plant Party, located on Springdale in East Austin, plays host to air plant terrarium workshops, and is BYOB. Their gorgeous space feels like you've stepped into a jungle, and working with plants will uplift your spirits more than a spiked egg-nog. They're also located next to Bambino ( a semi-fancy pizza joint), and Austin Eastciders, if you want to make a whole evening of it!
4- For a staff of 2-8, book a private cooking class at Thai Fresh, located in South Austin. Learn how to make authentic Thai recipes from scratch, and then enjoy the dishes of your labor! Nothing feels more festive than creating a meal together.
5- For a staff of 5-20, book a private Wig Party in our shop! Our party parlour is feeling particularly festive right now, with our pink tree and disco ball swag. Our parties are fun for all genders, BYO-anything you'd like to serve, and last between 2-3 hours, depending on the size of your party. And the best part? Your staff will get to keep their wigs, and leave feeling glamorous and sparkly! We're located just a mile East of downtown, and are walking distance to some festive restaurants and bars, so the party doesn't have to end when you leave our space...
